Chequerboard Fabric 1950s Black

This cotton dress weight fabric is printed in brown and black, it's from about the 1950s and that's a guess based on the look and feel of the fabric. The design is the sort you might see in the 1960s but I'm still thinking its from earlier. The print is a fabulous small scale black and brown chequerboard with squares of just over 1cm/1/2". Unfortunately the dye in this fabric was unstable and has moved about a bit creating darker brown areas and then lighter almost pale caramel squares. The black ink is fine it's only the brown. It's possibly this could be fixed with a soak or a few more washes and it's also possible to work around the problem areas.This fabric is for sale in a dress length free shipping is not available on this item.
